Less debt for the same degree should = win.

i think i read it somewhere on TLS forum threads that AJD isn't as appealing to law firms as a regular JD. so not sure how true that is but just sharing what i've read before.

I'd personally rather pay sticker than take the ADJ scholly for the exact reasons you cited. Part of the law school experience isn't just "I got a degree," but getting those employment connections while in school and being able to participate in extracurriculars. Yeah, it's 75k, but if you come out of school struggling to find work, are you really saving money?

I picked the 3 year over the AJD last year but I was offered no money.

Not only will you have 75K but you'll save a year of living expenses. So we are talking about 100K less for the same degree. That's half off sticker price.

I wouldn't worry about not getting an extra summer to work, 1L work isn't always that great anyway. I would worry a little about criminal vs big law litigation. But during 1L you don't really get a good idea what work would be like anyway.

The rumors about job placement vary. Some claim they do worse, some claim they are the same. They certainly aren't shunned by all or even most firms. Though I'd imagine there are probably some firms who care. I bet careers services can figure out which ones they are by now. Even if your job prospects are slightly worse, you get 100K less debt.

You can get on journal if you want.

I'd take the money. You are getting a half ride to a t14. I wouldn't turn that down unless you have significant money at another t14.

If you do take the AJD your profs will be:

Redish: Civ Pro
Tiller: Contracts
Dana: Property
Mullaney: Torts

I'd take it.

Damn, I was ED too but they didn't offer me shit to switch to AJD. I would have done it for 75K.

Two calendar years of law school should be sufficient--especially with mandatory continuing education requirements for state bar membership.

Law school should only be two years. Hell it could be one with little consequence.

Is it a 75K scholly plus the fact that the AJD is a lot cheaper to boot?
