Does Depositing Affect Aid?

Post by Saul Goodman » Tue Mar 22, 2011 12:53 am

Assuming one is waiting to hear scholly info, would it be a bad idea to send in a deposit?

I would like to know this as well. You obviously have to nut up and pay the deposit eventually unless you're that dedicated to your game of chicken. I'm waiting until the deposit deadline to send mine in at the schools I'm negotiating with. And beyond that, sending more letters. $300-700 is a lot of money but not so much that you can't feasibly expect anything. I think someone at one of my potential schools got money offered past a deposit deadline.

Anyone have any experience in the matter? I can't seem to find a thread that goes one way or the other... The thread keeps falling with no response...

I don't know the answer (it probably depends on the school), but if the deposit is not due for another month or so, why make it now?
