Took it last june after 5 mo and 40 PTs (20 by lg/lr type, 20 timed) and 167. 3.76. T20-30s with significant rides.

Would have to leave gf for her last yr of ug. ft work and retake or did I do the best im gonna do?

I did about the same amount of prep, PT'd about where you did, and scored about where you did. I did not retake because I honestly did not feel I could do any better. My GPA is great, so I've been pretty happy with my cycle, although I know I would have had a perfect cycle if I had done 3-4 points better.

As for leaving your GF, that's a hard question. Distance SUCKS, although if you're postponing law school to work a 40k job just to be with her for another year, that could potentially result in a lot of lost income for both of you in the long run.

Maybe she can graduate early?

Retake. I studied for 3-4 months, took the LSAT last June and scored a 167, then studied again, took it in October, and got a 170. Those three points made the difference between top 20 and top 10 with $. Considering you don't want to leave your girlfriend anyway, waiting a year seems like the best option. You can always improve your study habits and do better.

I'll be in the minority, but I say you may want to retake if you truly are considering it. I studied for 4 months and got around the same score as you did, got pissed off (even though I wasn't PT'ing that high either.. pays to be stubborn I guess..), studied again for 6 months and did a lot better.. If you REALLLY want to do better, I think it's possible.

1. What were you PTing at?

2. Do you think you underperformed on test day?

3. Is the T20-30 in the area you want to work?

4. How serious is the relationship? Is she going to be with you if you were to go to school next year? If not then you're only really postponing the LDR.

In this case I wouldn't retake. It seems you've been through most of your materials and hit a wall (unless you consistently scored 5 points higher on your PTs)

$$$ from a 20-30 school in a market you really like is not a bad place to end up.
