Boalt sucks because V10 is pretty east coast biased. There are some equally good west coast firms. But if you want NYC v10 stay away from boalt.

This is nice and all, but why do you care about V10? Plenty of good firms in there, of course, but there are several that are not V10 that are as good or better, if "prestige" or quality of work/pay is what matters to you.

Law school admissions breed an obsession on rankings and selectivity. If one carries that focus over to bidding on firms at OCI, a lot of absurdities result. The better approach with firms, unlike law schools, is to define what qualities you desire most, and to find out which firms offer those. Depending on your priorities and your desired practice group, the vault rankings might matter a lot, a little, or not at all.
