Top "Rural" Schools

Post by atlantisdan » Sat Mar 12, 2011 1:18 am

Just wondering which Rural schools are the best. I'm pretty sure where I am going to go, both of my top two schools are rural, just wonder what other schools fit that description and are worth consideration.

The only rural law schools worth going to are within the T14 or so.

Well, I'm not T14 level, but still prefer to go to a rural school over a urban one. I've been disappointed at just how many schools I have visited that are right in the middle of huge metropolitan areas...I prefer a slower pace.

I understand how you feel, so I will reword my advice. If you want to go to a rural school but then work in a metropolitan area, the only rural schools worth going to are within the T14 or so. If you want to go to a rural school and work in a rural area afterwards, focus on rural schools that minimize debt.

Fixed.

Yeah I was thinking UIUC - great school, rural location. The problem with this question is that rural plus non-T14 means you need to target the region in which you want to work, I would think.

Chapel Hill? No. Obviously someone who has never been or hasn't since like 1970. And Charlottesville is not rural either. Perhaps posters should limit advice to firsthand knowledge instead of stereotyping and making groundless assumptions? (Oh, sorry, that's how they roll on TLS)
