Rutgers-Newark vs Depaul

At the end of my cycle im choosing between Rutgers-Newark and Depaul. I'm from Chicago and ideally would like to stay here however I'm not too confident about the job placement out of Depaul (only chicago school that gave me $). Rutgers seems like it has marginally better placement in it's market, the main thing that worries me is employers questioning my commitment to the area, which could make the process more difficult. Also I have scholarships at both schools along with some financial support from my parents so I would end up with 50k total debt at Rutgers and around 70k at Depaul. This being said my main goal is to obtain meaningful legal employment with a salary north of 50k.

Dude, you from Chicago. Go to DePaul!!

Btw, even though DePaul is ranked in the 90s, it's Law Review is in the top 50. I believe it has the highest ranking differential of all Law Reviews.

Rutgers does NOT have better placement in its market than DePaul. Any statistic that says otherwise is simply splitting hairs.

Depends enitirely where you want to work. If you are aiming for Chicago, you would be foolish to go to Rutgers. Not that DePaul is a safe bet for a good job in chicago either, but Rutgers is going to make your life way harder than it needs to be.

Say what you will about NJ in general, there are some pretty awesome places to live in North Jersey, nowhere else in the world has Taylor Ham, and Rutgers Newark would probably hook you up in North Jersey as Rutgers has a solid local name up there. I'd go Rutgers, handle living in Newark for three years, and enjoy the rest of the state.

You don't have to live in Newark at all, anyway. There are so many areas you could live outside of Newark.

Shit, I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to live in Jersey, anyway.

ITT we now post the worst Jersey Shore pics.

Despite this, I very well may go to Rutgers. I don't think its indicative of the state - thank god.

I gave the finger (the state "bird" of Jersey) to the Jersey shore case once when I came across them being mobbed by "fans". Maybe if they were actually from Jersey I wouldn't have as much of a problem with em doing their stupidity in my state.
