Full-tuition scholarship at W&L Law, contingent upon staying in roughly the top 60%.....good idea or bad idea?

I would say "yes", it is certainly worth 3 years of your life and a bit of cost of living to get a 0 tuition degree from W&L, provided you want to practice law in the mid Atlantic.

However, if you got a full ride from there, you probably got into significantly better schools. Whether or not it would be better to take the money from there over the better schools is a different question...

Ideally, I'd like to practice in PA. The highest ranked school I got into is GW...I can't justify sticker at GW. Waitlisted at Penn, UVA, Michigan, Cornell (reserve).
W&M gave me half-tuition, and I've yet to receive a financial aid package from BC.
I think W&L might be my best bet.

I'd wait on BC and whatever other schools, but a full ride at W&L is not a bad deal. Not sure how well they place in PA, but if you have ties there I guess you'd be okay.

Given your other options, I'd go with W&L. Might not land you Biglaw, but getting a degree for $35k total would be hard to pass up and should be able to get you a job in PA.

Yes

Assuming that your work ethics were good enough to get full ride and can carry that onto your law school study, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem being on top 60%. It's doable & worth 3 yrs of your life.

Then W&L full ride is definitely your best option. Congrats on a solid cycle.

I think it's definitely worth it if you don't get any better offers. The COL is really low too, so you'll barely end up with any debt.

If no T14, then I think its your best choice. GWU at sticker is just a horrible idea considering DC's market
