Top Law Schools

Hello all.

I'm hoping that I might find some words of wisdom here. I've just been accepted to Northeastern and BU and I'm really on the fence. I know that BU is a 'better' law school (rankings, endowment, etc.) but I also know that my goal is not to join a big firm but to work in education, helping charter schools gain charters and (hopefully) working with education policy reform. I teach in West Philly and have a degree in secondary ed from UVM. Anyone with experience at these schools or experience with ed law have any thoughts? Finances are somewhat an issue as well, as I know I'm likely to get more aid from NE.

Have you been accepted to BC? I'd think if you were accepted to BU, you'd have a good chance if you applied. I believe they have a much better LRAP than BU, and obviously than Northeastern, which I'm sure has none at all. If so, I would take a look at that considering what you want to do. That way once you get your aid offers, you can figure out the cost on the back end, and not just the front end.

I wish I could offer more advice re: Northeastern v. BU, but I just wanted to say how happy I am to see another ed. law person on here! I, too, have a background in teaching, and I've worked for the last few years for an ed. law firm, doing LOTS of work on charter school issues and special education.
