GULC or BC ($$)

Georgetown- Sticker
BC- $28k/year scholarship
I either want to live in Boston or DC after law school (Boston preferred).
I intend to practice public interest law so money is a concern.
GULC has a fantastic LRAP. I'm somewhat unclear about BC's.
What do I do?
Edit: My family isn't close enough to Boston that I could feasibly live with them and commute.

This is tough. Do you have family in Boston that you could live with? If so, I'd say BC for sure.

Awesome! I also like to bike, want to practice PI, and have those two options, in addition to a couple others. I am unclear about Boston College's LRAP, too. Did you apply for the Public Interest Scholars full tuition award?
As is, I would choose GULC for its location in DC, which has many more PI opportunities, the ability to do externships and good internships while in school, and the LRAP making the COA difference less relevant - assuming you find a PI job.

Sadly no. I would have, but my family is moving to New Hampshire so that's not an option.

If you prefer to live & work in Boston, then BC with $28,000 a year scholarship is the better choice over paying sticker at GULC.

Ah, bummer. Well, I'd probably still go with BC. But...DC is a really fun place to live (lots of bike trails!) and there are some great PI/government opportunities here. Definitely go to Georgetown's ASW and see if you like it.

The opportunities that you could have with a degree from GULC might someday be worth more than 28K. But it is a hard decision.

georgetown because of lrap and also gives you better opportunities for biglaw if you ever change your mind.
Also DC will have more non profits.... that might help out with the IBR 10 year debt forgiveness plan.
you will still have about 100k worth of loans from BC.

I did apply for the public interest scholarship. That would make my decision very easy but I don't have any expectation that I would actually receive it.
