TLS helps me pick a law school

So I was just accepted to UConn today, my first official acceptance. I should (knock on wood) have a few more coming up. I want to have all my ducks in a row so I can start apartment hunting and my fiance can start scoping out jobs. I have a 171/3.2ish. I've got outstanding applications at GW, UIUC, WUSTL, BC and BU. I'd like to end up back in New England after graduation, preferably Boston. My fiance would prefer to stay close to home, but would be okay going farther away for a good school. No real thirst for biglaw, but that may change when I see how my student loan payments will be. I'd like to do government work I think. It looks like I might end up choosing between UConn, WUSTL, and UIUC. Which would you choose in my situation and why?

I'm also on the super secret double preferred WL at Georgetown. Should I make a ridiculous amount of effort to try to get off the WL?

Thanks for any input.

edit: WL at GW, in with 90k at UIUC

lol^.

also, i've heard the WL at GULC moves a lot most years because it's such a big class and their yield isn't outstandingly high, so i'd wait that out if i were you

You should get Wustl for sure, for boston, bc and bu are the way to go, so see what happens

UConn is supposedly beautiful. But if you get Georgetown/WUSTL/BC/BU, then no contest.

Btw, I love your 'tar :)

This'll probably get me banned, but I think you should go to the Brown University School of Law! Haha... someone posted a link to their admissions blog (http://brownuniversityschooloflaw.blogspot.com/), and I thought it was funny enough to repost and risk bannage!

But, really, I think you should go with Boston College or BU. If that's where you want to end up, then those are really good schools to go to. Georgetown would also be a pretty nice option if you got off the double secret waitlist.

Your only question to be answered at the moment is whether you should make effort to get off the WL at GULC and the answer should be yes. I mean it doesn't take much to send to a LOCI and that is all you can really do so you might as well send it.

For an actual decision to be made you'll need more acceptances and the scholly offers attached to them to figure out where is best to go.

Yeah, I realize I'm counting my chickens.

Although I just now got the email, in at Illinois with 90k. I haven't gotten scholly info from UConn yet, but they don't give merit aid after first year. I think the COA would be about the same coming from either with instate tuition after first year at UConn.

So I guess my question is... would I completely insane to go to UConn over $$ at Illinois (and hopefully WUSTL)? I want to end up in Boston and my fiance really has his heart set on UConn.

I know BC/BU would be my best option but looking at LSN it's not a pretty picture.

If you want to work in New England, you are not crazy to go to UConn over UIUC, in my opinion.

However, when did you apply? If you applied late to BC/BU, you have less of a shot.

It's tough for low GPA'ers who want to stay in New England :( BC and BU love the GPA, NYC cost of living is crazy ridiculous, and outside of UConn (and Northeastern), most schools after that are unranked (UNH, Vermont, Maine, Roger Williams, etc etc)
