Is it really the case that Cornell grads at the median get $160,000?

I think you aren't understanding how they are using the world median...

Is it true that the median salary for grads in private practice is 160k? Sure but that dosen't mean nearly as much as you think.

ITE, assuming about 10% clerk, I'd say under 40% are making $160k. That's just based off the stats readily available on the internet. A Cornellian would likely know better.

Mean being the operative word. For once, I'd like a school to just straightforwardly take all of the salaries, add them up, and divide them by the number of students (not including the unemployed, the amount and percentage of which they should disclose). Every damn LS out there spins their employment stats. It's really sickening, especially since lawyers are supposed to have such high ethical standards.

This. It's not grads at the median of the class, its the median salary of the grads, which must always be taken with a grain of salt.
