Do specialty rankings matter?

I am interested primarily in trial advocacy, but the rankings at US news confuse me. The top three schools for TA are

1. Stetson
2. Temple
3. SOUTH TEXAS

I put in an app at South Texas, and I haven't heard back yet, but I could see getting in. Since I want to work in criminal law, how much weight should I (or others) give to these types of rankings versus a schools overall rankings?

No weight. Ignore them. Also, retake.

Sadly, specialty rankings don't mean very much.

It's not his LSAT (161) that's hurting him too much... it's his GPA (2.75).

That said, I would retake. If you hit 161 on your first go, you could probably do better. I don't know how much you studied last time, but there is usually something you haven't tried yet that might improve your score.

You have 5 years WE and a graduate degree.

Retake.
Get a 170+.
ED to Northwestern.
Profit.
