$$ to U of I (total est. debt including living expenses $25,000). Ticket to NYU.

Are the public interest opportunities provided by NYU too big to pass up? or would I be an idiot to pass up the flexibility of being relatively debt free coming from Illinois?

As an older prospective student with a family, I would take the U of I hands down.

I'd say NYU is the better choice for PI.

However, I'd look to see how taking time off for children will impact LRAP.
