BC/UNC debate

I know they are total opposites (COL/Regional prospects/JesuitvsState), but would you rather apply to become a tarheel or a golden eagle?

I want to have one more reach school on my list. I have attended a Jesuit high school/university, but doubt that would factor in much at BC, save for me having an idea of environment at BC.

Thanks everyone!

Do you want to practice in the Northeast or South?

Do you want biglaw or a southern firm?

If you want biglaw, go with BC.
If you want lower debt but slightly smaller firm, go with UNC.

Another way to look at it:
if you want the north east, go with BC.
If you want the south east (maybe entire south), go with UNC.

159/3.54. Hence, the "hail mary" safety school, shot in the dark.

Would prefer the Northeast. But I have family in the south (southeast Georgia/N.Florida) that doesn't rule out the SE.

Okay. That sounds like the best way to approach it. Thanks!

If this is a matter of places you're applying to, and you would attend either of them, just apply to both. Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks, ya know?

Good point.

Unless you are URM, BC will not be an option anyway.

no chance at UNC unless you're in-state

Sorry to say but unless you are a URM you won't have to make this choice because you won't get in. I don't have much experience with UNC, but nothing short of a family member on admission will get you into BC unless you are a URM.

I would def. go to BC. UNC Law is not a real law school.

I dont get the comment, but BC is better in every single way except if you get in state tuition at UNC.

If you want biglaw from either of these schools, you're in for some serious disappointment.

As noted above by another poster, if you are not a resident of North Carolina, then your chances of admission with your numbers are not good. UNC only admits about 15% &, I suspect, that the below median admits are in-state & URM--but at least one or the other if not both.
To which other law schools have you applied ?

Retake if you want a shot at either of these schools.
