You've already been offered a significant merit award? Say half tuition? I've been admitted to a T14 in the same market as the T1 that gave me half. Do I have any chance of getting the latter to bump that up citing said admission, or would this sound too entitled?

What does it matter? If they think you sound too entitled are they going to take away the current offer? Might as well try it. Worst thing that happens is you get half scholly or go to the T14 school.

Oh, and congrats!

I doubt it will work, but you could always ask them nicely and see what they say.

Yeah, I suppose there's no harm in trying. For anyone who's done this (the "Negotiating Merit Aid" thread left this part out), would it be necessary to include the actual admission letter from the T14, or will they take my word for it?
