My best guess is that Virginia is more conservative than WashUStL.

Really? Based on any experiences? Have you been to UVA/Charlottesville?

This is a bad reason to decide between these two schools.

Unless WUSTL is close to a full scholly and you want to work in the area, don't worry about it and go to UVA.

Don't worry about it considering you haven't even taken the LSAT yet...

What are the major differences between the student bodies, the atmosphere on campus, the things to do on or around campus? Obviously the empirical data gets ranked ad nauseum.
What about the stuff that isn't?

Bro, both places are totally sweet. Ragers every weekend!!
Nothing like picking up all the undergrad hotties when you tell them you're gonna be a big-time lawyer. Soon you'll be banging Lucy Liu - just like in Ally Mcbeal!

See part of the reason I ask actually is because of a girlfriend who exists.

WUSTL, regarding campus atmosphere and things to do around campus:
The St. Louis night life is just ok IMHO. There are bars right around campus but students don't really frequent those. The bars that are more often frequented are closer to downtown or by the med school. There aren't really any good clubs, mostly just bars. Which I guess fits the type of city it is, but not necessarily what I would like. The campus, as a whole, including the undergrad, is fairly nerdy. It's laid back, not a huge amount going on, just pretty meh IMO. St. Louis, as a city, is ok. There is a very good following of the sports teams, and a decent amount of family friendly things to do. The city museum is an absolute blast, but depending on how uptight you are, it may not be for you. But, it is still going to have more a city feel than Cvill. But, I would definitely rather be in a different city.

<<---- Lived in Charlottesville for 18 years. I don't know what Wash is like, but Charlottesville Virgina is VERY LIBERAL. Like, the only way it could be more liberal is if it were full of hippies. Va as a whole, yes conservative. Charlottesville, NO, NOT conservative.

St. Louis, as a city, is conservative. WUSTL, however, pretty liberal.
