Top Law Schools

168; 3.9. Peace Corps Volunteer. 1 year prior WE. Good college softs. Good LORs. Decent PS. Etc.

I'd like to stay on the East Coast after law school, from NYC - Philly - DC. I'm open to Big Law and PI. Have never had too much debt in my life, so not sure what 200K feels like, but want good employment options after school. What should I do?

DNCG at full price (assuming I can get at least C, probably WL at the other 3)
ED at MVPB (would ED at P or M)

Go to Vandy. It places really well in DC and the northeast in general. Ton of alumni there. You'll prob have a shot at money there and the COL is a lot lower. GW will pay tuition but COL is really high in DC. I went to GW undergrad and I do love my experience there but Vandy is the better option assuming you do well in law school.

Take GW full ride and run, man.

I would likely do the same . . . although full disclosure, I would've taken Mich at full-price if they let me in. Love that school.

I thought GW hasn't had any acceptances yet?

Thanks for the advice. This is a hypothetical scenario. I'll be applying next cycle and feel like this is how it will go. I haven't applied ED anywhere.

Any other opinions??

I have identical stats, applied to Michigan ED, and got in. It certainly depends how much you like the schools -- that full scholly at GW was awfully tempting. Obviously, I thought ED to MVP was best but I'm interested in academia so it behooved me to break the top 10. You also have a decent shot at CN with the TFA experience if you aren't t10 or bust (according to the LSAC calculator 3.9 / 168 has a sizable better chance at NYU than Michigan)

a couple of points higher on the LSAT might get you into HYS.

You should ED to NYU. Your options will probably be NYU sticker, Michigan with $30k, Vandy with $72k, and GW with $105k, making the total COA the following:

NYU $213k
Michigan $166k
Vandy $130k
GW $107k

Any of these options except GW would be reasonable.
