Hi all,
All things aside (LSAT, GPA, ect) what are the best schools for someone interested in doing US embassy work? I was looking at a smaller school because of a certain specialty program they offered, but someone suggested that specialty programs aren't really looked at.
What are say... the top 5 best schools for someone interested in embassy work?
Thanks!

Yale;
Harvard;
Yale;
Havard; and, of course,
Yale.
In that order. But don't shoot for something so obtainable.. Shoot for the stars for your career goals.

The best school for doing embassy work is not law school. Look into programs that are actually set up for people wanting to go into the foreign service: Georgetown School of Foreign Service, Harvard Kennedy School, etc.
That, or just take the foreign service exam without any extra schooling at all.

+1. At Foreign Service though, you will find quite a few top LS graduates who can't stand being a lawyer.

Legal counsel to embassies and ambassadors are employees of the US Department of State. Most people at Harvard and Yale will never have a chance at one of those jobs. Good luck with that if that's why you're going to law school.

dont be a dick. The OP has many legitimate reasons for wanting to do what she wants to do. Im the one that told her to disregard specialty rankings/programs because, for the most part, they mean nothing and she wanted some confirmation. To the op: think hard about going to law school. going to law school is not an automatic ride to riches or success.
