It says something about not being able to have more than 4 quotes or something; I am new to this forum, so I am still figuring it out. Nothing to do with living FL btw lolthecilent wrote:lolAdu wrote:It wont let me submit my reply if I dont;thecilent wrote:Why do you keep deleting the first part of the quotes??

Northern Florida is pretty southern, IMHO. Granted I haven't really lived anywhere else in the south, but I have been to Northern Georgia and there are distinct similarities.

I lived in High Springs (20 minutes north of Gainesville) for about 3 years, and traveled the state quite a bit. I would say everything north of Orlando is not just southern, but VERY Southern.mistergoft wrote:Northern Florida is pretty southern, IMHO. Florida: the only state where the farther south you go, the farther north you get.

OCI attendance ≠ OCI hiring. Also TCR is UVA, by a mile.General Tso wrote:sorry if emory didnt make the cut maybe next year, if they add a "0" to the end of their OCI attendanceemorystud2010 wrote:blatant uga trolling.General Tso wrote:tulane, vandy, uga, duke, uf, unc

while it's true that there may only be a 5% chance of getting hired following an OCI interview, it is also true that there is a 0% chance of getting hired with no interview at all. besides, OCI is a good experience even if nothing comes of it. I still consider OCI to be among the strongest factors in choosing a school.SBL wrote:OCI attendance ≠ OCI hiring. I think the answer has got to be UVA. It definitely has the edge over Duke in most metrics, but both have a sizable lead over every other school in the South.

The percentage of graduates with clerkships/firm jobs is much more important than the number of firms that show up to OCI and do god knows what.

It's UVA followed by Duke and Vandy, the rest aren't even really in the conversation.

So, then you think Duke is better than UVA?SBL wrote:The percentage of graduates with clerkships/firm jobs is much more important than the number of firms that show up to OCI and do god knows what.

Didn't apply to UVA, Duke WLed me and then dropped the ding mid-august, so I'm going with UVA as the better one out of bitterness.Bosque wrote:So, then you think Duke is better than UVA?SBL wrote:The percentage of graduates with clerkships/firm jobs is much more important than the number of firms that show up to OCI and do god knows what.

Duke and UVA both reign in the South.

Re: Best Law School in the South
Duke is the best IMO, followed by UVA and then Vandy. Local schools take priority after these three (i.e. don't go to Texas expecting to have an edge over UNC students in NC because Texas is ranked in the top 20.)
Also, slightly off-topic, I just read through the OCI thread and can't believe how poorly Emory did. Only 30 firms are coming to OCI?!? During my ASW the administration claimed Emory was the "Harvard of the South," and that most students ended up in NYC. I guess they are a "northern" school in a southern state, but the NYC firms do not want to spend money to come down and interview them.
