Why GMU vs MVP? Is this an actual current situation or a hypo?

I understand being debt averse, but if this is a hypothetical situation, you are likely to get full ride offers at better ranked schools.

MVP=full sticker

what would you do?

I am very debt adverse, and I know many people might think I'm crazy for even considering GMU. But, I mean, is GMU REALLY that bad?
Are you drunk?

no.... but i did just get a fully scholly to attend gmu a few days ago. It's tempting then a 180k debt. Also, that's the only safety school I applied too (another mistake). I don't want to take a year off.

In what type of work or area of the country do you see yourself?

DC. I prefer biglaw... but I would also be happy with govt. work. Both are obviously hard to get.

Either way, I may be screwed up if I end up median at GMU.

You're going to have to do a lot better than median at GMU if you want to land big law. The same goes for the better govt. jobs. You might want to consider that.

MVP since if you're above median there you have a chance at biglaw or a decent gov't gig. But I would pay more for better prospects any day of the week.

If BigLaw, I would not worry as much about debt. If doing gov't work, then you would want to look at each schools LRAP program, as well as the federal public interest forgiveness program, and see how much you would really be paying for those other schools.

Remember that full tuition rides do not mean free school as there is still COL to consider.

Personally, I gave up a full tuition scholarship to Iowa to attend Cornell, as with cornell's LRAP it was not much more to attend there with a possibility of better connections.

"Michigan, Virginia, and Penn" or "Most Valuable Player". Context will dictate.

why dont you spend 70-130 bucks and apply to GWU and GTown right now and see how much money you get. Then evaluate...

OP is very debt averse. That 70-130 might be too much.
