Top Law Schools

What are you thoughts on Pace Law School? How does it compare to other NY schools of similar rankings. I am thinking about applying for the accelerated 2 1/2 year program. Any advice/ suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest against it. You will be competing with Columbia, NYU, Fordham, Brooklyn, St. John's, and CUNY grads for work in NYC

I think you'll be in just as bad of a position as most of the grads from all of the NYC schools that aren't CLS, NYU and maybe Fordham. As long as the idea of extended unemployment or starting salaries in the 45 to 65k in personal injury or immigration don't bother you, then its a fine choice.

As for the two and a half year program.. My goodness, what ever will you do with those extra 6 months?!?!

Pace is one of the shittiest law schools in the country. You will only have a 10% chance of being successful, and even then, I doubt. If your ok with loads
of debt and a lower middle class lifestyle, then it may be adequate. But, it's a horrible choice in this economy. Retake and apply to a t14 or don't go. Please.

Yeah, pity all those UCLA grads in line for food stamps.

It seems to be the opinion of this board that anything other than 100k+ a year is akin to unemployment.

Yea and it'd be nice if pre law students would realize that they want to so much for so little. Go to a T14 for 3 years, take the bar exam and youre supposed to make $160k/yr at 25 years old? Come on! Be f*ing glad youre not a medical student. Med students have to go through 4 years, residency, more schooling if specializing, more residency and then a bunch load of certifications. Sure they make a lot of money after that, but by that time they're close to 30 years old.

So, if you go to law school, pass the bar and find a job thats willing to pay you $75,000 a year you say THANK YOU. Not, "aw shucks, I'm ONLY making $75k a year. but I went to a T14!!!".
