I'd say unless you really want to to do a "yale-dominant" activity such academia, go for nyu. Debt is real. And scary.

Yale. I actually know someone who made the opposite choice. She ended graduating near the top from NYU and landed a great clerkship. But even a few years post-graduation, she still doesn't seem sure she made the right choice.

Thank you to the people who posted substantive advice. I have not been able to get a lot of advice from other pre-law friends because they turn green with jealousy. However, please include WHY you would choose one school over another and refrain from one word answers or answers with little or no reasoning. Thank you.

If your aspirations aren't particularly lofty, nyu--though the choice isn't free from doubt. If you are serious about academia, yale.
