nope. they only care that you graduated and what gpa you have at graduation.... drop the harder/ less interesting major and enjoy taking the grade booster classes in their place( or getting a schedule with no friday/ or early morning classes)

A whole lot. Last year Yale's entering class of 180 or so students had almost 400 majors between them. Roughly speaking, a school double's your GPA if you have more than one major, because of the NALP rules.

I know one guy who got into Duke with a single major, but I think his parents were well connected or something.

Maybe if you did two kinds of engineering or something that's actually difficult. Political science and sociology are both grade-inflated liberal arts majors so they probably don't care.

They probably care, just not that much . . . all else being equal, of course the double major will look better than the single major. But for sure drop the second one if it's going to negatively impact your GPA. Higher GPA trumps lower GPA/double major every time.

No. I double majored and minored and no one cared (including myself).

Are you giving bad advice on purpose? Who gives a shit what the school does with your GPA...LSAC treats it the same.

OP, do whatever will get you the highest LSDAS GPA in the end. No one cares.

Eh, that's what I get for reading fast and not really thinking. There has been so much legitimately bad advice lately that my radar's down...
