University of Chicago v New York University
Let the ultimate battle begin (for like the 500th time).
I'm less concerned with meaningful advice and more concerned with the poll and general trash talking.
Here are some starting points to help you, the completely unrelated, most likely 0L, online-forum-lurker:
(1) The History

(2) The Present
--ImageRemoved--
(3) ATL's Thoughts
"Next, let’s check in on Chicago’s march up the rankings…
. . . Word on the street is that UofC overcame NYU Law School thanks to a subtle change in its reporting to U.S. News. We hear that Chicago changed how it reported its Expenditures Per Student. . . .
Is it conceivable that Chicago’s math had been keeping it behind NYU for all this time?
. . . Chicago grads that have emailed in report that they always believed that UofC was a top five law school, so the new rankings are just finally catching up. You know, when you get to the endzone, act like you’ve been there."
(4) Unofficial Mottos
NYU
"I was WL'd at Columbia."
UCHI
"Where fun goes to die."
(5) The Scenery

You recognize him don't you? That's right, he's the correspondent for The People's Court. Yeah, that guy went to UChi. His name is Harvey Levin.

Ha...not that the OP wasn't uber-impressive. It was. Just must've been a helluva of a lot of copying/pasting.megaTTTron wrote:Dude. Huge understatement.MrKappus wrote:Got a little time on our hands, do we?
Also, FWIW: Chicago>>>NYU! If I ever hear someone refer to "The NYU School" when talking about an entire way of thinking about the law, I'll rethink my position.

When does anybody say this about Chicago? Economics, certainly, but I've never heard it about the law.MrKappus wrote:Ha...not that the OP wasn't uber-impressive. It was. Even Scalia thinks Chicago has lost its edge and "would not recommend it to students looking for a law school" - http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/ ... tive_edge/
On the other hand, I'm SURE he would highly recommend a school like The New York University School of Law.

I was being kind of sarcastic anyway. But, um, you've never heard of "law and economics?"clintonius wrote:When does anybody say this about Chicago? Economics, certainly, but I've never heard it about the law.

This man knows of what he speaks. This is pretty much exactly how I view things. NYU v. UVa. is kind of tough, but Chicago v. NYU really is not.D Brooks wrote:YLSStanford4Me wrote:I think you mean the UniversiTTTy of Chicago.
