I haven't seen anything on here written about this; do American firms just hire foreign lawyers to do this sort of stuff or are there schools here that prime students for this sorta work or what? What does an American have to go through to even begin to work in law abroad?

0L disclaimer

Go to top school
Get some biglaw experience doing transactional work
Lateral over to an office abroad

It would definitely help to have fluency in the language and ties to the country.

Yeah, I can speak German, and I have lived there before- do law firms ever recruit for this sort of thing?
