Great school in a saturated market. If it was located in Florida, it would be THE go-to school for that state.n

It´s not a good choice for most people, especially people paying to go there or people who want big law.

Overpriced 4th best school in an oversaturated market.
Plenty of smart and capable people graduate from Cardozo, yet have no better opportunities than doc review. I wouldn't bother if you absolutely had to go to NYC and had absolutely no other options.

referencing what Nealric said, that is the real problem with Cardozo. It attracts plenty of capable, intelligent students and provides them with mediocre opportunities. Many of its students could have chosen non-NYC schools that offered them far better employment opportunities. I am sure it provides a tremendous education, and like I said, the student body is pretty impressive, but it is just not a good value proposition

5th best, if you include Cornell, which places the vast majority of its grads in NYC.

Decent school in an over saturated market. But they seem to be very generous with $. This factor does increase its value.
Cardozo full or near full tuition > Fordham in my opinion.

Cardozo full or near full tuition > Fordham in my opinion.
The conditional nature of the scholarships undermine the value IMO.

This is a classic TLS argument. First, not all scholarships come with an unreasonable GPA or ranking requirement. Many schools provide need based grants.
Second, for some, especially those that are very debt-averse, attending law school for free, even if just for a year, is worth it. With the cost of attendance at most schools topping $65K per year, the difference between $195,000 and $130,000 is considerable.
Lastly, while Cardozo is #5 in a saturated market, it's #5 out of 15 schools that compete regionally for jobs.
The negative that I'd highlight is Cardozo's lack of name recognition over lower-ranked schools in the region like Brooklyn and St. John's.

Cardozo's come with an unreasonable GPA requirement.
It's not worth attending a year for free if you consider that the fact that you lost your scholarship means you didn't rank high enough to get a job that gives you a shot to make payments on your loans. That's guaranteed required 25year IBR there. I can't imagine paying off my student loans when my kids are going to college. Hope and pray congress gets rid of the tax bomb at the end.
I would much rather be $195k in debt with a good legal job than unemployed or doing doc review with $130k.

Just to clear up, Cardozo does give out a decent number of full ride/no stipulation scholarships. Many more than you hear about at other schools.

But it's not going to get more prestigious than Columbia, NYU, Cornell, Fordam, or the host of other T13 who want NY. Sorry bro.

Everyone who has posted here with a "Cardozo with $$$ vs. XXX" has a conditional offer. As far as I recall, they required median (ish).

I'm not a hater. As I've already said, I have nothing but respect for the students who attend. I just think it is a good school in a very saturated market and suffers as a result

Not hating here. Like most law schools, Cardozo provides a great education. Like most schools, Cardozo admits bright, capable people. Like most schools, it is a very poor value in terms of cost compared to employment opportunities.
