Top Law Schools

At a number of schools, more people deposited than expected. UVA offered some people they accepted $$$ to defer for a year. As we all know, hordes of people applied to law school this year.

Will this change the rankings, and if so how?

Will next year's application cycle see similar levels of applications? More? Less?

Let me guess, you're going to UVA.

Don't worry, you'll still be ranked #10 next year and Michigan will still be ranked #9. hth.

alright, i guess i'm wondering if, for example, will the LSAT numbers of the entering classes at a number of schools slide up due to the increased number of applicants (and the increased number of test takers and the increased quantity of people with higher scores)?

Same question for GPA.

Scrapple is tasty and nutritious. Eating a full meal everyday makes you tubby.

I tend to think apps are up everywhere this year. Most schools are reporting record numbers of very qualified applicants and medians seem to be on the rise.

However, I think programs which mishandled this historic application cycle may suffer, although their rank will likely remain static. For example, schools that over-enrolled, like UVA, may take a real hit at OCI.

Scrapple: the best stuff on earth just got unemployed.

Cornell had over over a 50% increase in applications, so they may crack T10 this year!

Also, Pepperdine's alternative dispute resolution program is really shining, so expect them to move up. Same with American and their international law... I think they are really underrated.


And the scandal with the Yale admissions dean posting on here with a porn star alias will surely cause them to drop out of the top 3.

The same thing basically happened last cycle: apps went up and the level of competition also seemed to increase at many places (i.e. higher GPA/LSAT medians). It's nothing really new because just about every school games the rankings each cycle. If anything, though, I would imagine that UVA's extended deadline for ED may helped their yield, but who knows...
