Any advice?

I'm considering my chances of getting in at one of the bigger name schools on the list, but I feel honored to have been accepted at GULC and am planning to attend. Should I wait it out for the other schools?

If you would rather go there, you should wait them out. If not, then don't?

In consideration of my desired area of practice, GULC is a great fit for me. However, how do you turn up HLS or CLS?

Another problematic factor is the $1200 deposit fee....a major determinant in this situation.

-by the way, practice interests include Corporate vs Legislative.

Right, HLS, CLS and NYU are clearly better schools than GULC from a prestige point of view. If for that reason, or for any other, you would rather go to one of those schools (or Duke, although it's closer to a peer school depending on region) then what do you have to lose for staying on the waitlist? You don't have to put down a deposit to stay on a waitlist, you have to put the deposit down whether or not you eventually get into one of those schools.

In the words of a wise TLSer, "If you would rather go there, you should wait them out. If not, then don't."

What are your numbers? It's odd to get WL'd at HLS, and not get into Duke or NYU.

Why not wait it out?

Personally I see $1200 as a pittance compared to the possibility of getting into HLS/CLS/NYU.

Unless you want to practice in Georgia, take GULC, ride out the waitlists.

Not if they think you won't go to their school anyway. Too far above 75th percentiles and the waitlist machine gets initiated.
