160/3.5
Both have offered me 50% scholarship. At ole miss, I could get instate residency after 1 year while at LSU I was basically told it wasn't realistic to get instate residency and that I would need to remain in the 30% to renew my scholly. I plan on practicing in FL, which neither school seems to have great ties to. I know LSU is ranked higher but any additional insight would be great- seat deposit due tomorrow.

A little away from your direct question but with those stats I think you would've had a good chance of being accepted to at least one of FSU or UF. Obviously that would've been better for FL.

But to answer your question...if your deadset on FL and wouldn't mind the panhandle, then I'd go with LSU because of proximity. I have lived all along the Gulf Coast and know LSU has ties all up and down the Coast. But if you're talking about working in Central or Southern FL then I would imagine either school would give you the same opportunities, which would be slim.

3.5/160 should've got you at least a small scholly from Miami...did you apply there?

Thanks for your reply. I am still on WL at FSU which was my first choice and UF rejected. Miami and Stetson offered $0 which surprised me, but I think it was because I didn't get my apps in til February. I have no red flags and pretty strong softs. Anyways, I think your right on with what you said about LSU and they seem to be the better pick

Well better pick as far as opportunities in the FL Panhandle. Now Ole Miss would be cheaper considering the lax residency requirements. I also got a scholly from LSU and turned them down because of the top 33% requirement and the fact I couldn't become a resident after the first year. So keep in mind the cost if you don't meet your requirement...if you can stomach it, I think LSU would be better. And if you're not from Mississippi...LSU would be better because you really should have ties in MS before going to Ole Miss. That's my personal opinion (my hometown is Biloxi fwiw).

Good luck!
