GW: 15k need based
Brooklyn: 42k +5k living, top 40%

Probably want institutional law, but don't want to limit my options.

Ask Brooklyn to drop the stipulation. If they will, go there. If not, GW.

Yeah, I wouldn't go with that stipulation. It's risky. I'd honestly rather go GW, even at sticker.

GW. Stipulations are terrible and GW is a pretty damn good school. Wouldn't risk top 40% at Brooklyn ITE. They'll probably laugh in your face, but have you tried asking GW for any money?

just feeling lucky I even got in. and I have a feeling that, should I get a scholarship, it would be smaller than my need-based grant and I'd have to take one or the other.

They're additive, not mutually exclusive.

how sure are you about that? it seems the policy of all the schools I've looked at that you can have one or the other.

I think merit awards consume need-based aid. So if you hypothetically have 10k in need a BLS and 8k in merit, you end up only actually receiving 2k in need-based monies. I think.
