New poll here. Bringing USC back into the mix. I got 15K/year to USC, with instate tuition of about 20K. Cost of living in Columbia, SC is cheap.

Quinnipiac offered me the Dean's Scholarship, which is a full ride + 1500 stipend (one time award)

I don't REALLY want to stay in SC though.

I'm going to go ahead and include George Mason in this poll as well. They offered me no money.

I really like GMU, I like the NoVA area.

But I feel like an idiot for considering turning down over 165K in scholarship money from the other two schools.

New poster here, but very familiar with South Carolina and its legal situation. I would say it all really depends on your career, life aspirations. If you truly want to leave the state, and the network you have established over the course of your life, then go for it. However, I would suggest looking strongly at So. Carolina, or re-taking the LSAT and applying next year for more money at better schools (George mason would be great, george mason not free, not so great).

ultimately, choose your own adventure, I just can't reiterate enough that when it comes to regional schools, its more about the network than anything.

Well, if you want to work in CT and maybe RI, VT, NH, then go to QU. They have a beautiful campus and small class sizes.

If you are no more sold on that part of the NE than you are on South Carolina, then go to SC. Absolutely do NOT go to Mason at full price. It isn't worth it. Period.

I understand that George Mason is expensive. But I'd rather be networked in DC and NoVA than SC or NE.

Also, and someone tell me if my logic is just way off, the IBR option has got to make debt anywhere much more manageable.

If, after 10 years of reduced payments, I'm not making enough money to adequately handle the remainder of my student debt, then I've got bigger problems. And if I choose to work in Govt or Public Interest then that debt is SUPER manageable.

Go to school in the geographic region you want to work in. IBR's got your back on the debt issue.
