I am very strongly considering Michigan. What makes you say those things, can you give specifics?Oblomov wrote:If you're considering schools in the t-14 and have options other than the UMich, take your other option(s). Their career services goes beyond incompetent. They give advice that actually harms students' career searches and refuse to make even minimal effort or accommodation for students. I'd be willing to bet that their employment statistics for the next two years will verify this, if they release honest data. Without exaggeration, I wish that I had taken any of my offers in place of this one. Well, maybe not Georgetown, but any of the others.
What rank were you (approximately) in the class?Oblomov wrote:If you're considering schools in the t-14 and have options other than the UMich, take your other option(s). I just did; you can ask them for Oblomov's seat.
Ya, makes me wonder if this is a joke or he's being serious.Always Credited wrote:This is seriously intriguing...I know Oblomov to be a thoughtful and accurate poster, so I'm curious about whats up here.
Wait, when did you do this?Oblomov wrote:pany1985 wrote:I hope every Michigan student drops out

Why does ANYONE srsly rely so heavily on career services at any school? This just seems rather foolish.Oblomov wrote:If you're considering schools in the t-14 and have options other than the UMich, take your other option(s). Their career services goes beyond incompetent. I understand your point, but please don't tell me that you would describe Cornell's in the way.kn6542 wrote:Why does ANYONE srsly rely so heavily on career services at any school? I have to second this, especially in this market, even at T14. If there is one things law students are universally bad at its finding jobs on their own without any guidance. All that being said its sucks to be in O's position, I hope things work out for him. That and schools (and message boards like this unfortunately) do a really bad job of giving students the skills they need to actually find something on their own. Both schools and the boards tend to perpetuate the myth that law students find jobs through the school or OCI, the vast majority don't.kn6542 wrote:Why does ANYONE srsly rely so heavily on career services at any school?
