I am very strongly considering Michigan. What makes you say those things, can you give specifics?

I hope every potential transfer student across the country reads this thread and is dissuaded from applying to Mich.

I don't need a seat. I just think it would be fun if an entire student body walked off one day and never came back.

What rank were you (approximately) in the class?

I just did; you can ask them for Oblomov's seat.

Did your class rank play a role in your decision to drop out?

I ask this with all due respect.

Why does ANYONE srsly rely so heavily on career services at any school? This just seems rather foolish.

I understand your point, but please don't tell me that you would describe Cornell's in the way.

I have to second this, especially in this market, even at T14. If there is one things law students are universally bad at its finding jobs on their own without any guidance. All that being said its sucks to be in O's position, I hope things work out for him. That and schools (and message boards like this unfortunately) do a really bad job of giving students the skills they need to actually find something on their own. Both schools and the boards tend to perpetuate the myth that law students find jobs through the school or OCI, the vast majority don't.

Its a catch 22, the schools don't provide the skills students really need for a job search and students don't know they need to learn them on their own. Things get worse when the school did not need, in the recent past, a robust career services office familiar with how to find students jobs when the old methods stop working. We are in a different market and schools need to catch up quickly with changing times. For the most part they aren't and that is a disservice to their students. It's hard to know what you don't know when the people you look to for advice don't know either.

Good luck O you're a smart guy things will work out.

Good luck Oblomov. You are one smart mother-fucker. (usually that's sunshine I put up someone's ass, but in your case, it holds true)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
