Wisconsin vs Illinois vs Chicago-Kent

Post by crazyeddie » Thu Apr 15, 2010 5:08 pm

Here's my situation:

Illinois-instate tuition + $20k/yr
Wisconsin-out of state + $20k/yr
Chicago-Kent- Full Ride

I think that I would like to practice BigLaw in Chicago, but would be open to other options as well. I have outlined what I like about each school below

Illinois- Highest ranked, best shot at Chicago BigLaw,

Wisconsin- Most impressive campus, liked the atmosphere the best when I visted, law in action approach to teaching, Diploma privilege, still has some access to Chicago market

Chicago-Kent- Lowest cost, being in the city of Chicago may be an advantage if I want to practice there (however, I like the BigTen college town atmosphere)

PLEASE HELP! Thank you!

If you want Chicago BigLaw, and a big campus atmosphere, Illinois is an absolute no-brainer.

I voted Illinois, but I don't think Wisconsin would be a bad choice. I would throw Kent out, unless you're dying to live in Chicago (apparently, this isn't the case for you, though).
