Top Law Schools

Hey everyone,

I have to choose between Wayne State University and MSU. I'm not sure what I kind of law I want to practice (maybe something criminal, but I haven't really looking into anything else), and I'm not sure I want to stay in Michigan after law school. Money is a factor but not a huge huge one (MSU is $10,000 more expensive).

Here is what I've got so far:

MSU:
Pro-
-My alma mater, and since I am not good with change, there will be little to adjust to.
-Is supposed to hit top 100 in the near future.
-Big 10 name
Con-
-more expensive
-Who knows if it will actually hit top 100
-less alumni base

Wayne State:
Pro-
-Said to be second best in Michigan
-Less expensive
Con-
-Not very recognized outside of Michigan (not sure if this is true...)
-In Detroit
-Might have to live with parents at home

What would you guys do if you were in my position?

I would go to Wayne State, its cheaper and going to place you in the same jobs as MSU would. Just commute into Detroit if you are worrying about the location, there is cheap housing everywhere right now if you don't want to stay with your parents.

But my concern is that after I graduate, does Wayne State have more of a name outside of Michigan than MSU does? Won't MSU's Big 10 name get it further?

In Detroit, you can buy a house for $9K. Just do that.

Seriously???

Both of these schools are going to have extreme difficulty placing anywhere outside of Michigan. If you want degree that has portability, I would retake the LSAT. If thats not an option, I would go to MSU because people at least know what that is, an average person has no idea what Wayne state even is.
