NY Bar Passage Rates T14 Schools

Post by noname4 » Tue Apr 13, 2010 4:44 pm

Interesting to note NY bar passage rates amongst the T14... not necessarily what you would expect. I wish US news would use these on a 5 yr rolling window or something to get a better sample, but I think there is some statistical significance particularly looking at Michigan's unexpectedly low rate.

Cornell - 99.2%
Penn -98.4%
Harvard - 98.2%
UVA- 97.5%
NYU - 97.2%
Georgetown - 96.8%
Columbia - 96.7%
Yale - 96.5%
Duke - 96.0%
Michigan - 91.2%

This is surprising. The 5 year window is a good idea, but the problem with that is that some schools could change their major market from year to year, so they would not have a 5-year window in any state. You could go with more comprehensive data, but US News likes to keep it simple.
