Top Law Schools

This is my situation, just looking for some quick insight.

I have an acceptance from WUSTL with 57k (total)
I am on hold at Northwestern

Northwestern has been my #1 choice through much of this process. I have heard that people have had some success getting in off the hold list by writing a sincere unconditional LOCI. If I were to do this and get in obviously I would stand by my word and attend Northwestern.

My holdup is that I am fairly debt averse and would have to pay for LS out of pocket. Is that 57k really enough of a difference to warrant not going all out for Northwestern if that is my top choice?

if you get into NU, the NU over WUSTL. $60K is simply not enough to justify attending WUSTL (especially in light of the fact that WUSTL and schools like it were hit especially hard at OCI this past year).

Last cycle, I ultimately ended up turning down $90K at WUSTL as they upped their scholarship offer late in the summer to attend NU at sticker.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Would 57k be enough to go to WUSTL over NU? Right now my feeling is no...

I would lay down a seat deposit at WUSTL and wait out NU. Worst case, you go to WUSTL. NU is the obvious choice, but WUSTL isn't the end of the world if you're willing to work in the Midwest (not Chicago).

Deposit at WUSTL and wait for Northwestern. Simple as that.

I'm in the same position. I've been accepted to WUSTL with 99k over 3 years and am on hold at NU (and Cornell). I wrote NU a LOCI and went on campus for an interview but did not give an unconditional answer. I feel too uncomfortable "promising" to go to a school without seeing a scholarship offer.

What are your goals? If BigLaw, then NU is the obvious choice due to their fantastic placement. I'm sure you've seen this:
