Hawkeye vs. Buckeye

Post by Fsubuckeye » Thu Apr 01, 2010 7:46 am

So, I need help in making a choice as well:

Option 1) University of Iowa (26)
Benefits: Ranked a little higher

Option 2) The Ohio State University
Benefits: In state tuition, 10k scholly, and a housing job (5-10hr a week plus free rent)

I would like to pracctice in the midwest. Any info, opinions, or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Lawyer from that region said that OSU was a great midwest school and it seems that the slightly higher ranking of Iowa isnt worth the extra debt.

Where do you want to be in the Midwest? If Chicago, Iowa seems to have better placement at the top firms. OSU is king in Ohio though, so if you would be happy in Columbus or Cleveland, I would take OSU and save yourself a little money. I'm not sure how they compare in markets like Minneapolis, Kansas City, St. Louis, Milwaukee, etc. (I would imagine the difference is negligible).

This is assuming you want to do firm work at all, of course.
