Brooklyn (10k / year) versus Tulane (sticker) versus Temple
I've lived in New York my whole life and don't really plan on doing big law, although I wish to rank highly. I would like to return to New York (or the North East) at some point.

Bump. Poll results are pretty spread out so far.
EDIT: Tulane seems to be winning out. Didn't expect this.

I'm guessing that the people who voted for Tulane don't know how (relatively) cheap Temple out of state tuition is.

Indeed. I plan on visiting Temple this weekend.

how much debt will these schools require?
If over 100k I think you should go to Tulane and do Public Interest/LRAP.

If you live in NY and plan on returning one day its worth considering what the experience of living in New Orleans will be like. As a native long islander who went to Tulane undergrad I will say it is 100% positive- I still live here now and plan to return after law school. Undergrad is very much a work hard-play hard mentality. I don't know as much about the law school but whenever people hear that I went to Tulane- even in the northeast- they are always very impressed so I think the lay prestige is really high relative to ranking. If nothing else though this is a great excuse to visit New Orleans. If you have any questions about the city let me know and good luck with the decision!

Thanks Wack. I also grew up on Long Island. My main issues with Tulane are it being sticker price and wondering if I'll be able to return to NY afterward. Would it disadvantage me compared to going to Brooklyn if I want to practice in New York?

Ugh, I'm deadlocked between Tulane and Brooklyn.

You need to figure out which one will COST the least after scholarship (including living expenses) and not which one gave you the most money.

temple is pretty cheap, esp if you can manage pa residency. it gets a bad rap for being in a not nice neighborhood, but it's fine really. also, the temple brand is really great in phila. if you would want to practice there, you can do VERY well with a temple jd.

I'm voting temple for the above-mentioned reasons.
