Georgetown vs. Columbia/NYU for DC Placement

Want to be in DC post-law school - either gov't or a firm.

Other things equal this is obviously an easy question to answer, but I have a strong preference to stay in DC for personal reasons (both during school and after)...hence the question. I realize Columbia/NYU would be better in most cases, but am wondering how much worse off I would be going to GULC. Any insight much appreciated.

Columbia....I would say that the larger class size and lesser placement numbers at Gtown are a bad sign if you want a biglaw job in DC and you are not high in your class. Plus, being rare commodity (Columbia student going to DC and not NYC) will help you....BUT you NEED a reason for DC to help you break in (just 1L thoughts, a 2l/3l will help more)
