Using March Madness to Choose a School
I absolutely cannot pick a school. Every day I change my mind, and every school has tons of pros and cons. So I think its time to use a completely arbitrary and childish way to pick: whoever does best in the March Madness tournament.
For example, Illinois was a bubble team and they didn't make it, so they're out. If they win the NIT, maybe I'll reconsider. Vanderbilt is losing right now, so they may be off my list too. WUSTL won the 2009 Division III tournament, but only made it to the second round this year, so I'll probably have to eliminate them too. That just means if Cornell can somehow make a run, I'll be in Ithaca next fall.
Seems like the fairest way to pick a school. And it brings a whole new layer of excitement to this years tournament.

Or Georgetttown. Good school, but I don't wanna be 200k in the hole to live in D.C.kilgore_trout wrote:You better hope East Tennessee State doesn't catch fire...
Looks like no Vandy for me.

Duke vs. Vanderbilt. Looks like I'm heading to Durham next fall after that piss poor performance by Vandy. Losing to low seeded mid majors is their specialty.

Lol and thats what I love so much about March Madness. I have no rooting interest in a single team among the 64, yet I'm jumping around cheering just from the thrill of what I saw, for a school I pretty much never heard of before. Just awesome.romothesavior wrote:Yeah what a shot! Guy right in his face and everything. Shame too... I really liked Nashville.dakatz wrote:Did you guys see the ending of Murray State vs Vandy!!? That's OK. Vanderbilt sounds more like the name of a company that builds semi-trucks than a reputable law school.
When you withdraw, you should cite the fact that they lost to Murray State.

I regret to inform you that I am withdrawing my acceptance and scholarship. Vanderbilt is a great school in a wonderful location, but I am afraid the Commodores' piss-poor performance against Murray State has made me reconsider matriculating. That's the second time your team has lost to a 13-seed in the last few years. What's up with that? I mean, I love Kevin Stallings and all from when he coached at Illinois State, but I'd rather go to Duke or Georgetown and cheer for a good hoops team. Hell, even Tennessee would be better... at least they have a good football program.
Best of luck in finding great candidates for your Class of 2013, you're gonna need it after that early-round exit.

explain to the adcomm your bball requirement, and use vandy's performance as a means to leverage more money.

Wake beating Texas. That was a helluva game. And may have influenced me to go to Wake...

Re: Using March Madness to Choose a School
now you have to pick cornell.. seeing as they are a final 4 contender (i'll argue to the death on this one). white boys dropping 3's like no other with few really athletic urm's makes for some real madness.
