Will not need to take out loans due to fortunate circumstances.

COA at Marshall ~ $40,000 x 3 = $120,000- 15,000= $105,000 Assuming you are not an Ohio resident.

I think this is pretty much a no brainer that Marquette is not worth $ 66,000 more.

Thanks, luckily the quality of the education and thoughts on the schools is more important than the value due to fortunate circumstances.

Well I don't know how fortunate your situation is but I think your job prospects will be similiar at both schools. And if your an ohio resident that saves you another ~ $18000 so if you consider COA Marquette costs $84,000 more, but yeah I understand you are not looking at the $$$ exactly. If it helps I know a couple of recent Marquette law grads who are having trouble finding work.

Yeah and if you stay in WI you won't have to take the bar exam. Personally I just dont think the quailty of education, slight difference in rankings, and job prospects are worth pissing $84,000 dollars away but again mabye $84,000 dollars is not alot of money to you.

I think that is a sensible sentiment.

Not having to study for the bar and wait for the results to get employment is a key plus. Otherwise, I don't know a whole lot about the two schools. If you're a college basketball fan, though, Marquette offers much more satisfaction in that area.

Yep, though Cleveland State has a good team and upset Wake Forest last year.

Let me apologize in advance for the brevity of this post. This will be my fourth reply on these forums tonight, and I am running out of time to make posts.

Currently, I am a first year law student at Marquette University. Let me list for you a few of the "perks" that I believe MULS has to offer:

1.) Brand new state-of-the-art law facility opening up this summer. The facility will be one of the top facilities in the entire nation. http://law.marquette.edu/ecksteinhall/

2.) Diploma privilege. If you attend law school here, you do not need to take the Wisconsin bar. Graduation does not mean "spend the rest of my Summer studying for the bar exam."

3.) Open-door policy for all professors. I have never heard of a professor refusing to meet with a student. The professors here care about you and your legal education. They are not trying to "weed you out" of the program.

4.) Tight-knit community. Both in the law school and in practice, Marquette offers a very close legal community. You don't need to worry about the horror stories of "students stealing books/notes" or purposefully giving other students incorrect answers during review sessions.

5.) Employment opportunities. This is an awful economy for the legal market right now, but WI has only two law schools and a lot of residents who need legal advice. While firms around the nation have been reducing or cutting out summer associate positions for the past few years, WI has only now just begun to follow the trend. This sounds like a scary concept, but think about it in comparison to the rest of the nation. If everyone is making cutbacks, wouldn't you want to go where the least amount of cutbacks are being made?

6.) ASP and our Career Planning Center. ASP is a program where 2Ls and 3Ls help 1Ls through their first year classes. You will have the opportunity to talk with students who were in your shoes not that long ago, and work with them on issues you are having trouble with in your classes (in a small-medium group setting once a week). Additionally, our Career Planning Center ("CPC") has a huge network, and does an excellent job finding students internships, clerkships, and other employment opportunities.

That covers some of the main points, or at least the ones that come to mind right now. I'm sure if you're a college basketball fan (as it sounds like you are), that point will be well taken into account. I have nothing bad to say about Cleveland-Marshall, but I have only good things to say about my experience so far at Marquette.
