Where do you want to work, and what kind of work do you want to do?

Some numbers:
From the class of 2009, 56% of Northwestern grads got jobs in the NLJ250 firms, compared to 20% of Cardozo grads. If you're interested in Big Law, Northwestern almost tripled Cardozo's percentages last year. I would say the extra debt is probably worth that chance.

However, I can see a situation where you 1) want to be in New York City and 2) want to do public interest rather than Big Law work, and could be tempted by the lower cost. But otherwise I'd say go with Northwestern, and even if you do want to do public interest work, I think it would bear a closer look at what clinics and other programs these schools have and how it relates to what you want to do. I think Northwestern is going to be tough to turn down (didn't they just introduce a pretty nice new LRAP?).

Actually, I am extremely against going into huge debt, but if you really want to go biglaw NU is the way to go, because you would have around a 1 in 2 chance instead of a 1 in 5 chance.

+1, except IMO it's going to be 1/2 vs 1/10.
