Top Law Schools

Obviously I cant narrow this down at all. I want to work in NYC and hopefully at a big law firm. The $$ i got from each school is:

WashU 10k
GW 0
Cardozo 37k
Brooklyn 37k
BU 0

Also waitlisted at Fordham

Any input is GREATLY appreciated. I'm so undecided and looking for any advice. Thanks!

Any stipulations on scholarships? Any aspirations for specific fields (patent etc.)?

To be honest, I don't really have an idea. Maybe some sort of public interest but i want to work in a big law firm, so more likely business or entertainment law.

I personally think its not worth giving up a free or almost free JD unless its for a T14 and even then I'm not entirely sure. But it is an investment in yourself and you don't want to live with any regrets.

edit: plus you can put down a deposit at one of those schools and see what happens with Fordham if you really have your heart set on it

Thanks for the article. Anyone else have any advice? I spoke with a recruiter at a top law firm and her choice of the schools I have been accepted to is Brooklyn (better alumni base and connections with firms) and WashU being last (based that I want to be in NYC)

Any other reasons for your choices?

In the best years, Fordham placed approximately 40% of its class in biglaw, while Brklyn et al placed less than 15%. Those are cold hard stats from 2008 or so. Now cut those figures in half or worse for the outcome you're probably looking at.

So if biglaw is your goal, you are taking serious risks at any of the schools. I personally would not want to risk those loans on slim chances but at least you now have the facts.

The recruiter you spoke to makes a point you can listen to, but the point belies objective measurements.

Or if I am interested in entertainment law? any difference in which school to attend

I do not know much about entertainment law so I will refrain from advising on that.
