Full Scholarship T4 vs T2

Ok...the loans will be all mine. Father owns midsize law firm. Obvious job upon graduation. T2 school was always first choice but I got no money...T4 full scholarship three years? Advice

Hamilton at Columbia vs. Harvard. Always a tough decision. I'd take the Hamilton.

If you're planning on working for your dad's firm I would just ask him what he thinks. It may be that he feels it would be worth it to your career to have a degree from the local school that's dominant in your market, or you may just need a J.D. that entitles you to take the bar in the state and from then on you're fine. It's very tempting to just say take the scholarship when you've got what looks like a guaranteed job, but if your dad wants to transition to you taking over the firm I could see $150,000 a relatively small price to pay for having gone to the local powerhouse. You might have an easier time drumming up business way down the line.

Don't think of your immediate situation upon graduation; think long term. Will you be better off in 20 years having gone to the better school? Your debt will be ancient history by that point and (assuming you are a traditional-type student) you'll still be only in your early 40s, which is still fairly young in the lawyering world.

One day you may want to step out of daddy's shadow and show you can make it on your own. In which case T2 would help over T4

Since you have a job upon graduation, it might not be as risky to take on the debt to your top choice school.
Personally, I couldn't imagine having my dad as a boss for more than a few years... I'd imagine you might want to have all the opportunities you can get-- so if you do decide working with your dad isn't the right fit-- and/or-- you uncover an interest in a different kind of law while you're in school-- going to the T2 would likely give you more avenues to explore these interests rather than the T4.

As someone mentioned above, you have to think long-term, not just how you'll be doing 6 months out of LS.
