clerkships? For NYC, I'd go with NYU. Otherwise, UVA.
to warrant the extra cost? Depends on where you ultimately want to work and which school you feel more at home. So I say that this is a personal choice.

Go to UVA. NYU and Columbia win in placement to large new york city law firms - BUT it's by a slight amount even then. Take the $$$ and run.
