Which City/Market would you choose?

If you had your choice of working in any city/region in the U.S. (all else being equal), where would you choose to work post graduation? I'm just trying to get a general sense of where people on TLS see themselves living/working after law school.
For me, it's gotta be NYC or SF (leaning toward the latter).

San Francisco, it's a much more manageable city IMO.

Despite being an NYC native, for me, it’s SF all the way.

I'm only considering three really: NYC, CHI, and Miami... but I don't know enough about the difference in the type of work you’d be doing in those three cities to really come to a conclusion yet. I mean, is the type of work you would do in NYC going to be more interesting than in Miami, or even Chicago?
Edit: Choose the city currently leading the pack, Chicago. Reasons? Still a major legal market, whereas I don't feel like Miami is in the same class, but I can actually contemplate buying a place there in a reasonable amount of time. In NYC the cost to buy small places in Manhattan is mind boggling.

Out of those, NYC or Chicago would be ideal.
It's probably NYC > Chicago >>>>>SF/Atlanta/DC.

San Francisco. Too bad it's on the other side of the country IRL.

DC all the way. Clean, pretty city, nice people, sweet 'burbs to camp out in, nature and beaches nearby, philly and nyc just a train ride away.

Too bad it has the COL of NYC without half of the culture. The biggest draw to DC is prestige, right behind New York there. For QOL though it falls pretty far down the list.

What do you mean by prestige? Is it really considered "prestigious" to practice in NYC or DC? just curious...

NYC and DC are probably considered the most prestigious for law. And then Chicago.
The most competitive jobs are in DC (federal government jobs, etc). The top of class always seem to gun for DC and DC is more stable than other markets. DC is far the hardest market to get into and it's dominated by people who had prestigious clerkships/top 10% grades, etc.
NYC (still) has the largest and more prestigious offices and a lot of international offices will only lateral associates to work abroad from their NYC office, and not from other offices in other cities. It's where a lot of the big transactional work gets done.

Eh, I disagree on both counts. I lived in both nyc and dc for extended periods of time, and COL is astronomically higher in new york. If you want city life without living in the city itself, for nyc you've got...new jersey...and for DC you have really cute places in virginia and maryland. Sure, new york might be more exciting for a night out, but I've gone to more lectures, galleries, concerts, and shows in DC than I ever did in new york. You just have to know where to look! Plus in DC you don't feel all scummy at the end of the night
