Wash U @ St Louis vs GW Law? (similar money from both)

I like wustl, but i think it's deemed more of a regional midwest school. I like GW's dc and ny market ties and they have very solid ip program, which is my focus. Thoughts?

They're pretty equal. You're really choosing between Chicago and DC here. WUSTL is more national, but they're both probably equal in NYC.

May be faced with the same decision some time soon (got into WUSTL, waiting on GW).

I think in terms of lay prestige WUSTL is the clear winner. In terms of placement, GW may have a leg up at the moment but WUSTL seems to be on the rise. What I like about about WUSTL is that they have a lot of money and they are willing to spend it to improve the overall quality of the school. Also, a T6 prof told me that WUSTL's faculty is excellent and I believe him.

Overall I am personally more drawn to WUSTL, although it may be slightly weaker in terms of biglaw placement.

Tagging, as I also am in at WUSTL and waiting to hear back from GW.

These threads are crazy. Both are regional schools. You know the first thing someone will post is
"where do you want to practice?" And then everyone will advise you to go to the school in that area. What else did you expect?

True, but the question is which one is the relatively stronger school. You know, Cooley and BU are also both regional schools.

from looking at where wustl's student body comes from and where their graduates end up (and also from talking to current students) it seems that other than marginal migration into chicago, their students for the most part end up going back to where they came from.
