Top Law Schools

Applied to Whittier, Western State, Southwestern, La Verne and Chapman. Anywhere else worth applying? Also, which of those schoolsis the best bet?

i think southwestern is the best school on that list. if you want central california try mcgeorge.

I think most people will say Southwestern, at least if you want to practice in LA. But I'd encourage you to visit both there and Chapman, particularly if Chapman offers more money and/or you're interested in practicing in Orange County. As a disclaimer, I'm biased toward Chapman.

You might also throw out applications to Pepperdine and Santa Clara (reaches) as well as Loyola and San Diego (you have a great shot at their PT programs).

He's above the 75th GPA for both part time programs, above the 25th LSAT for both part time programs, and it's never a bad idea to have one or two reach schools.

Be honest...you didn't even know who that was until he went to law school.

OP - try an app to Davis as well. They occasionally dip this low. It's a long shot for sure (maybe 5% chance) but still worth a shot IMO.

Answer only for Los Angeles/Orange County:

Forget Western State and LaVerne, no matter how much money they offer you. Whittier is less worthless, but only marginally.

You have about roughly a 40% chance of getting into Loyola and Pepperdine (depending on your softs and demographic), so may as well apply.


My hunch is that you are an almost certain admit to both Chapman and Southwestern, although the increase in applications this year makes predictions based on past data dicey.

Try Loyola, Pepperdine, and San Diego too. I haven't heard from the other two, but I made it into USD with scores just a smidge higher than yours.
