UCLA is so confident this year. They refuse to match scholarships and their initial offer to so many people is terrible. It's barely above t-14s. That's the impression I get after reading the forums here and looking at LSN.

I know! If only I had time to take a trip out to SoCal and see the school

I got my WUSTL shirt by bugging admissions during their ASW haha.
Dude come out here! If you visit once, you'll never want to live anywhere else.
. I think it's too late at this point because I withdrew for ya haha. I was hoping you'd get my $$$.

Yea, we don't like them here. I'm going to try to get into UCLA just because, then withdraw. Let's see who's laughing now.

Hahaha.
They rejected me, even though I wasn't low enough for an outright rejection and wasn't high enough for a YP. Not sure what happened

It's actually somewhat of the opposite, after speaking with the Dean. They over-extended themselves last year by quite a bit on initial offers and got screwed with an anomalous amount of people accepting offers - so they are being conservative this year and know that it could cost them some good students, but at the end of the day they have budgets that must be met to function.
ETA: more on track for this thread, however, I recently submitted Scholly negotiation request but have yet to hear back. I've seen a few people say same day or 48 hours for response, any one with other experiences?

I haven't actually heard of someone being turned down. I only heard of people being told to wait until after first deposit. This makes sense/is TCR for correcting from last year's problem. USC wound up with a much larger class size than expected last year as well. Hopefully the adjusted their formulas accordingly so they don't over accept this year.

Hmm that doesn't make sense to me. How can they tell us to wait until after the first deposit deadline when the condition for making the first seat deposit is to withdraw from all schools, with the exception of WLs. We would lose a lot of leverage then.

That is worse than USC revoking your scholarship if you double deposit. EVIL

^^ Thanks for that! I still don't see why it is in our best interests to reserve early. My goal is play on the uncertainty.
Also, isn't UCLA's first deposit deadline shortly after the date that we have to reserve our scholarship for USC? That's very interesting dynamics.
I withdrew from one law school today, felt so good~

Congrats on getting closer to that final decision!
UCLA's seat deposit is on April 17th. I think it is so USC can get a better idea of how much money is actually being used. They seem to be of the philosophy to over commit upfront and hope too many don't accept.

Haha I have 15+ open offers rn. I only withdrew because they were bombarding me with the calls/emails/mail.
I noticed that quite a few on LSN have withdrawn this past week. Hopefully more monies for us.
Also look at that beautiful poll up there, it's enough to make any AO nervous.
